'Carousel', a Newcastle pop-rock outfit.

Youth Rockin' the Black Dog aims to raise wareness of mental health issues among youth in the Hunter region, and also acts as a platform for young artists to launch their music career.
'Carousel' scored an EP recording package as first prize, while runners-up 'The Dynamics' and 'Piecemeal' went home with $500 and $300 respectively.
Carousel comprises of vocalist Cameron Hughes, bassist Liam Bonomini, drummer Sam Bonomini, and guitarist Nick Shepherd.

Front man Cameron made sure to speak out for his support of raising awareness of youth mental health, saying:
“It isn’t a topic that young people always feel comfortable talking about. We need to talk about it more with family and friends - everyone needs a voice.”
