Are you 2012's Class Clown?
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is keen to discover Australia's funniest teen. That's why they've launched the 2012 Class Clowns competition, and are conducting a nation wide search to find the funniest comedy act by 14-18 year olds.
Registration is now open, and heats are being held in every state and territory of Australia throughout February and March. The competition is looking for both solo and group acts (of up to three members) to perform an original five minute comedy act - whether it's stand-up, sketch, musical parody, or something in between. At the heats, entrants will get the chance to participate in a workshop with a professional practicing comedian, before presenting their act in a real, live, public performance. The funniest of the bunch will then be selected to compete in the 2012 Class Clowns National Grand Final on April 20th during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Finalists have the chance to win $1000 for themselves, and $1000 for their school.
So, if you're between the ages of 14-18, want to have some fun, and think you might have what it takes, enter here.
